  Asma'a Al Husna

From the noble and lofty stations of knowledge is to know Allah(سبحان وتعلى). Verily, belief in His names and attributes of Allah is  one of the Pillars of Faith.

Learning Allah’s Names and Attributes from the Noble Qur’an and the purified Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم) is one of the best acts of worship that brings us nearer to Allah.

Learning Allah’s Names and Attributes helps one to glorify, praise and call on Allah by His Names and Attributes. It is very important to know Allah through his  Names and Attributes such that it is the 3rd category of Tawheed. 

​

Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says: “And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allâh, so call on Him by them)”
7:180. This indicates that we should know Allah’s Names and Attributes and use them while calling on Him.

​

All of His names are beautiful, all of his attributes are perfect, all of his actions are based upon pure wisdom, they are beneficial just and serve as a mercy.

​

Use this opportunity to memorise all of these names within one month of dedicated work. 
 

Why Learn Asma'a Al Husna?

It is not only important but also highly rewarding and beneficial for one's emaan.

  • The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) stated

      “Allah has ninety-nine Names; anyone who learns them will be              admitted to Jannah (Paradise).” (Sahih Bukhari)

  • In another narration: Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) stated: “Indeed Allaah has 99 names; whoever learns, memorises and acts in accordance to them will enter Jannah” (Bukhaaree, 6410, Muslim, 2677)

​

  • The meaning of this hadeeth is that from the Names of Allaah there are ninety-nine Names and whoever memorises them and understands them and acts in accordance to them will enter Jannah.

And the intent is not that Allaah has only ninety-nine Names, limited to that number. There are more than ninety nine names from the knowledge Allah has kept with Himself.
